2015 Race Features

The 15K will start at Evans Creek Trailhead, Brodnax, VA 23920. Shuttles will take you to the starting line and will leave every fifteen minutes from the La Crosse caboose, which is the finish line. There will be an awards ceremony at 10:00am.

Medals, and Cider, and Ware, oh my!

Each participant will receive a finisher’s medal and complimentary hot chocolate or hot apple cider, water and snacks at the finish. There will be a water station at the 9K mark and race day photography for purchase, courtesy of Robbie McMillan Photography.

The Course15K map

The race course is along the Tobacco Heritage Trail, an abandoned railroad corridor now transformed into a community nature trail. Since locomotives used to traverse this route, it is relatively flat with few turns, which makes this race an ideal course for newcomers to the 15K or for those looking to set a new personal record. The first two thirds of the race course is fine crushed stone which transitions into pavement once you reach the Town of Brodnax. The majority of the route is wooded, but you will pass through the Town of Brodnax and end in the Town of La Crosse. There are four street crossings total on low-trafficked roads; volunteers will be posted to direct vehicles. 15K Map There are restroom facilities located at the starting line and finish line as well as one along the course.
