Tobacco Heritage Trail Header
long distance multi-use non-motorized trails

Although it is owned by Roanoke River Rails-to-Trails, Inc., the Tobacco Heritage Trail is maintained and improved with volunteer contributions. The Tobacco Heritage Trail is what it is today because of people who contribute. Be one of those people; be a Friend of the Tobacco Heritage Trail.

  • JOIN THE FRIENDS! This is a group of people who love the trail and want to participate in its growth and improvement.

Brunswick County Chapter: Gary Turner

Halifax County Chapter: Coming soon!

  • THT INFORMATION TABLE: Set up and staff an information table at a town event. We have the table, information about the trail and the Friends, pictures and a sign-up sheet. You pick these up from the trail coordinator in South Hill, and set up the table at a local event – could be the Halifax County fair, Taste of Brunswick Festival, Victoria’s National Day of the Cowboy, South Hill’s Springfest, or any charitable event. A great way to build community support for the trail!
  • SPECIAL EVENTS: We have other events throughout the year. Help with promotion, planning, and coordination of events such as trail walks, a bicycle safety clinic for kids, trash bashes and community Easter Egg Hunts, etc.
  • FUND RAISERS: Whatever your reasons for loving the Tobacco Heritage Trail, give something back to it. Be a volunteer for raising financial support that Friends of the Tobacco Heritage Trail are hard at work on. The goal is to raise money for trail expansion and to keep the Tobacco Heriage Trail a great place to exercise and relax.

I want to get involved!
